The Vienna Production Engineering Congress (WPK) has been established since 2012 as a platform for scientific and technical exchange between industry and research.
7th Wiener Produktionstechnik Kongress (WPK2026)
Date and Location
7-8 October 2026, Vienna, Austria
From Data-Driven Production to Autonomous Manufacturing Systems
The focus of this year’s event is on manufacturing concepts, data-driven optimization strategies using AI, and technology-driven process innovations towards highly automated and autonomous machines that enable approaching the economic-physical limits of industrial processes. At the same time, the congress addresses the human-centered redesign of work content in manufacturing, which results from increasing system intelligence and automation.
International speakers from industry and academia will present the latest research findings, industrial case studies, and methodological approaches to increase productivity. The goal is to provide scientifically grounded perspectives and to highlight concrete implementation opportunities for industrial practice.
Given the current economic framework conditions, we carefully considered whether the congress could take place. We have consciously decided to hold WPK2026 – as a positive signal and motivation to continue advancing manufacturing innovations. To facilitate participation, the congress will be held in a cost-conscious and compact set-up, taking into account organizational and economic constraints.
We warmly invite you to participate in WPK2026, engage in technical discussions, and jointly generate impulses for the further development of modern production systems. Take the opportunity to learn about current trends, innovative approaches, and practical solutions, and to engage in dialogue with international experts.
